The federal Appeals Court for the D.C. Circuit has issued a temporary administrative stay of the gag order against former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election interference case, reported The Guardian's Hugo Lowell on Friday.
The order, signed by Obama-appointed judges Patricia Millett and Cornelia Pillard and Biden-appointed Judge Bradley Garcia, puts the restriction on hold until oral arguments can be heard on the matter on November 20.
Trump's gag order, imposed by District Judge Tanya Chutkan, did not completely prohibit him from discussing the case publicly; however, it limited what he could say in attacking witnesses and court officers.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
This comes as Trump has struggled to comply with an entirely separate gag order, in the New York civil fraud case against himself and his two adult sons.
He has already been fined twice for attacking various people covered by that order.
New York State Judge Arthur Engoron expanded the gag order today to also cover the former president's attorneys.
