Trump has now golfed for five consecutive days in South Florida, The Daily Beast reported on Wednesday — at the same time his administration has purged federal employees and threatened terminations over their new policy forcing remote employees back into the office.
"While his DOGE henchmen have been busy firing all those lazy federal workers, the president dialed it in for a fifth straight day from one of his golf clubs in South Florida," reported Mary Ann Akers. "He golfed on Wednesday at his Doral golf club in Miami after spending four days at his private Mar-a-Lago resort and home over an extended President’s Day holiday that allowed him to up his game before his scheduled return to the White House Wednesday night. His MAGA supporters cheered him on."
Trump, who along with tech billionaire and close ally Elon Musk has offered a "deferred resignation" package to any worker unwilling to submit to this change, has specifically cited golf as something he thinks federal workers on telework schedules are doing on the clock.

“There’s a whole big, oh, you can work from home,” said Trump when signing the executive order mandating a return to office. “Nobody’s going to work from a home. They’re going to be going out. They’re going to play tennis. They’re going to play golf. They’re going to do a lot of things. They’re not working.”
Trump's attitude echoes a trend across the private sector too, with numerous large companies forcing return-to-office policies, some undoing even telework and flexible hours agreements that existed before the COVID-19 pandemic. These policies are often billed as safeguarding productivity, but some studies show limiting employees' freedom of where to do their work lowers productivity.
Trump tends to golf at his own properties, and often his family personally profits from this. Indeed, he recently held talks on how to expedite a controversial merger between the PGA tour and the Saudi-backed LIV Golf, the latter of which has often paid to hold events at Trump properties.
