Republicans are going to 'lose big-time' in 2022 if they keep fighting over who loves Trump the most: GOP ex-rep

On CNN Monday, former Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) warned her party that they are on track to lose the 2022 midterm elections if they have no message beyond fighting with each other over their loyalty to former President Donald Trump.

"[Liz Cheney] said your party needs to be the party of truth," said anchor Poppy Harlow. "How do you get there when literally last week, polling from Quinnipiac showed that 76 percent of Republicans think there was widespread voter fraud in 2020. It is not true, but they think it. How do you become the party of truth?"

"Well, I think one of the things that they have to stop doing is stop attacking each other," said Love. "It does nothing to censure Liz Cheney, it did nothing in Arizona, all it did was — look, Nancy Pelosi realizes that she has a narrow margin in the House of Representatives, and they're going to capitalize on every opportunity they can to widen that margin. That is fact. And what Republicans are doing by in fighting is hand that over to her."

"You don't go and fight within each other, and you start talking about the things that you are for," continued Love. "You start talking about limited government, fiscal discipline, all of the things that Republicans actually stand for. Republicans aren't talking about that right now. This is the purity test that no one is ever going to win. It is ridiculous. And not only is the GOP going to lose, but they're going to lose big-time in two years if they don't cut it out."
