Friday, President Donald Trump is getting his first physical of his second term.
While the president is posting on Truth Social, "I have never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done!" NPR's Tamara Keith is questioning how forthcoming this physical will be.
She penned, "Trump has been less than forthcoming about his health information in recent years, even as the issues of health and age were in the spotlight during the 2024 presidential campaign."
Trump is the oldest president to start a second term in office. He campaigned on having cognitive testing, saying in an October 2024 rally, "We should have cognitive tests for anybody that runs for president and vice president."

Presidential medical records are kept private and don't have to be released to the public.
She noted, that no data has ever been given on Trump's actual health. Instead during his first term, President Trump's physician released statements before and during his presidency saying, Trump's health is "astonishingly excellent," Trump is "the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency," and comes from "great genes."
In 2018, Dr. Ronny Jackson said Trump scored a 30 out of 30 on his cognitive exam. It is unclear if he will undergo a similar exam on Friday.
In an interview with NPR, Dr. Jeff Kuhlman, who was a physician in the Clinton, Bush and Obama White Houses, noted several past presidents who did not disclose their medical history. This includes Woodrow Wilson who had a stroke and John F. Kennedy who denied having Addison's disease .
"To me, the purpose of the physical for the president is to give him honest feedback," about physical and cognitive health, said Kuhlman.
"Whether that honest feedback is also shared with the public is another question entirely," Keith penned.
