Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social this Tuesday and slammed his former Press Secretary-turned Fox News contributor Kayleigh McEnany, accusing her of providing the “wrong” poll numbers during an appearance on the network.
“Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on FoxNews. I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up,” Trump wrote, using his nickname for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. “While 25 is great, it’s not 34. She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll. The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!”
Critics of Trump seized on the post, saying it was just another example of Trump's fickle sense of loyalty and his penchant for attacking anyone and everyone who doesn't emote praise for him one hundred percent of the time.
Among those defending McEnany was Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, who said that Trump attacking her is "insane."
"She's was one of the best press secretaries ever ... She was fantastic, but she's an analyst now. She doesn't work for any campaign, Kilmeade said.
Even a host at the historically pro-Trump outlet Newsmax took exception to Trump's words. In a segment this Tuesday, Rob Finnerty said, "I don't like the attack."
"...especially with somebody like Kayleigh McEnany, who seemingly so loyal to her former boss, Donald Trump," Finnerty said.
