'Not on the record': Judge refuses public access in Trump's lawsuit against niece

An appearance in Donald Trump's lawsuit against his niece will not be open to the public.

Law360 correspondent Frank Runyeon revealed that New York Justice Robert R. Reed denied the media's request to attend.

"Justice Robert R. Reed denies press access to court appearance in Donald Trump's lawsuit against his niece, Mary Trump. He accuses her of violating contract confidentiality by giving his tax records to @nytimes," Runyeon wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

"'Not on the record and not open to the public,' I'm told," he added.

In a 2021 lawsuit, Trump accused his estranged niece, Mary, of disclosing his tax records to The New York Times.

The paper and three reporters were dismissed from the lawsuit last year. In January, the former president was ordered to pay $400,000 of the Times' legal fees.
