Trump Organization announces new US hotel plans shelved as only partner bails: report

In a new report, the New York Timeswrites that the Trump Organization’s hotel expansion plans in the United States have essentially flat-lined.

“Plans for the two hotel chains, Scion and American Idea, are to be shelved indefinitely, most likely for the remainder of the presidency,” The Times wrote Thursday, noting it was a “decision that partly reflects a fundamental business problem: a lack of deals.”

Eric and Donald Trump Jr were more optimistic about the business side of The Trump Organization’s business prospects for new line of hotel properties a few years ago. Now, the Times notes, “despite stating publicly that it had built a pipeline of about 30 potential deals, the Trump Organization was able to announce only one partner, and on Thursday the company announced that the agreement had been called off."
