Trump proclaims his intention to stump for vulnerable Republicans 'six or seven days a week'

Many vulnerable Republicans are holding on for their political lives in a political climate that isn't friendly to those giving a pass to a scandal-plagued president. Still, President Donald Trump has pledged that he will show up for the members of his party as many as "six or seven days a week."

In an interview with Sean Hannity, the president said he was ready to hit the ground running.

“I am going to work very hard,” he told Hannity. “I’ll go six or seven days a week when we’re 60 days out, and I will be campaigning for all of these great people that do have a difficult race, and we think we’re going to bring them over the line.”

He said that he demanded his team create a list of vulnerable Republicans and that he would be ready to go.

“Give me the top 25 congresspeople that are, you know, could go either way, and I want to go out and campaign for those people,” Trump said.

He noted that he doesn't believe the history showing that a president's party generally loses seats in the midterms. He intends to score big by using his economic policy.

“The economy may be the strongest it’s ever been in the history of our country,” Trump said. He went on to quote Bill Clinton's old campaign slogan, "it's the economy, stupid."
