Former President Donald Trump insisted that his rally at Madison Square Garden was a "love fest" despite racist and vulgar speeches given by his supporters.
At a last-minute press conference on Tuesday, Trump addressed criticism of Sunday's rally in New York City.
"I don't think anybody has ever seen anything like what happened the other night at Madison Square Garden," Trump said. "The love, the love, the love in that room, it was breathtaking."
"It was like a love fest, an absolute love fest," he continued. "And hopefully, you know, they — they started to say, well, in 1939, the Nazis used Madison Square Garden... But can you imagine that in 1939, the Nazi."
"But how terrible to say, right, because, you know, they've used Madison Square Garden many times."
