Trump rails against 'sleazebag' NY investigators who forced him to shut down his sham charity foundation

President Donald Trump on Wednesday went on a bitter tirade against investigators in New York who forced him to shut down his shady charity foundation.

One day after the Trump Foundation announced that it would dissolve in the midst of allegations of self-dealing and fraud, the president lashed out at the New York Attorney General's Office for slamming the foundation with a lawsuit alleging years' worth of illegal activities.

"The Trump Foundation has done great work and given away lots of money, both mine and others, to great charities over the years -- with me taking NO fees, rent, salaries etc.," the president wrote. "Now, as usual, I am getting slammed by Cuomo and the Dems in a long running civil lawsuit started by sleazebag AG Eric Schneiderman, who has since resigned over horrific women abuse, when I wanted to close the Foundation so as not to be in conflict with politics."

Trump also claimed that "shady Eric was head of New Yorkers for Clinton, and refused to even look at the corrupt Clinton Foundation."

During its investigation, the New York AG's office found multiple instances of alleged self-dealing within the Trump Foundation, as Trump signed off on using charity money to pay off lawsuits against his businesses -- and even to buy a $10,000 portrait of himself.

And despite the fact that Trump insisted he would never settle with the New York AG, the Trump Foundation this week agreed to dissolve under judicial supervision, which was a key demand of the office. Additionally, the office has recommended that Trump and his children be barred from serving on the boards of any charity organizations in New York.
