'Pants on fire': Trump adviser Roger Stone accuses ex-ally Jenna Ellis of lying about him

Far-right activist and political operative Roger Stone picked a social media row with turncoat Trump attorney Jenna Ellis.

She accused him by name of having "advised" Donald Trump (using his Twitter/X handle) "to retrain Ronna ROMNEY McDaniel as RNC Chair."

Hogwash, he says.

"I opposed McDaniel's re-election and called for an audit of RNC spending to be made public on StoneZONE."

He then punctuated the tweet with the hashtag: "#PantsOnFire."

Ellis had tweeted on Monday evening that the diehard MAGA Stone, who back in 2020 was pardoned by Trump, was whispering in the former president's ear to keep McDaniel in place.

"Roger Stone still advises him and he made sure Ronna Romney McDaniel kept her position as RNC chair. Try again."

She left a clown face emoji.

McDaniel has been on the proverbial hotseat since November when the party rendered subpar results in this year's election where the GOP failed to add seats and lost in gubernatorial contests.

She took incoming from GOP presidential candidate and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who dubbed the RNC Chair a "losing leader."

He created FireRonna.com, and pleaded for her to step down.

“I am sick and tired of this Republican establishment that has made us a party of losers. Where is the accountability for years of losing: 2018, 2020, 2022 and now 2023,” he said in a statement. “On the debate stage, I called on Ronna Romney McDaniel to resign. Now, I’m asking grassroots conservatives across the nation to join me so she can feel the power of the people. It’s time to stop the culture of surrender and losing. Resign, Ronna!”

McDaniel shot back.

“When Vivek didn’t vote in 2016, I was leading Michigan to the first win in history in 30 years. In 2018, we defied the odds, we got three senators, people like Josh Hawley, that allowed President Trump to build the largest conservative majority on the Supreme Court,” she said.

One sticking point on McDaniel's RNC ship has been the lack of contributor dollars.

By October, the RNC reported having $9.1 million in the bank — a pittance compared to the $20 million the party boasted at the same time back in 2016 presidential campaign cycle, according to The Washington Post.

In contrast, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) reported having a $17.7 million cash war chest.

Virginia RNC member Patti Lyman, who opposed McDaniel's reelection back in January, sees the blame at the top.

“The RNC’s electoral record since 2017 speaks for itself,” she said in The Washington Post piece. “The damage from that chair election goes far beyond the drop in donations. Our base was demoralized.
