Trump supporters (including Trump) continue to try and question Special Counsel Robert Mueller's reputation, including falsely accusing him of sexual misconduct.
On Friday, the fact-checking website Politifact had to debunk a conspiracy theory that falsely attributed a statement to Robert Mueller that suggests he's in favor of a one-world government presided over by one world leader—a common conspiracy theory attributed to global elites by right-wing pundits and conspiracy theorists.
"We must move as quickly as possible to a one-world government; a one-world religion; under a one world leader," a post published on Facebook on Feb. 11 reads.
It appears the confusion may have originated from a post by Robert Muller, a former assistant secretary-general for the United Nations, but it's not yet clear if even he said it.
Regardless, there's no record of Special Counsel Robert Mueller lobbying for a one world government.
