Former President Donald Trump unloaded a rambling rant Monday after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that he could not be disqualified from state ballots for insurrection.
After arriving late to his noon press conference, Trump thanked the Supreme Court and called the ruling a unifying moment for the country.
He then attacked the prosecutors and judges connected to other civil and criminal actions against him. The former president also laid blame with the current White House for his legal woes.
"So, I really believe what they should do is really go all the way, go out and stop all of this nonsense," he complained. "They're nonsense cases and everybody sees it."
Trump said he was lucky to have a platform to "explain" it to the public.
"Because if you weren't able to explain it, the public wouldn't know," he ranted. "They'd believe what they see."

"So I don't want to win this way," he added. ""Look, I want to win based on my policies are better."
The U.S. Supreme Court had been considered an effort to remove him from the Colorado ballot citing the Constitution's 14th Amendment, which says that anybody engaging in insurrection against the U.S. cannot hold public office.
The court ruled that the decision about who is eligible for the presidency was not the states' to make, but instead should be decided by Congress. It did not comment on Colorado's ruling that Trump's actions on January 6, 2021, made him an insurrectionist.
The former president recounted what he claims were his policy wins as president.
Before stepping away from the microphone, Trump said justices should also rule for him in a presidential immunity case.
"I hope that the justices, because they'll be working on some other cases, but one in particular presidents have to be given total immunity," he remarked. "They have to be allowed to do their job if they're not allowed to do their job."
"It's not what the founders wanted, but perhaps even more importantly, it will be terrible for our country."
