President Donald Trump's budget plan likely won't pass its House vote Wednesday afternoon. That's because several GOP lawmakers will not be backing it, including Congressman Eric Burlison (R-MO).
“I can’t live with myself if I go back home and I added more debt and deficits without any kind of correction whatsoever,” Burlison told the New York Times. “I couldn’t live with myself.”
The former state lawmaker successfully advocated for the Show-me State's Legislature to seek an amendment to require a balanced budget.
Burlison is not the only republican who has yet to come around and agree with President Trump's budget plan within the halls of Congress.

The Times also quoted Congressman Andy Harris (R-MD), who did not meet with the President on Tuesday because his mind was made up about the bill. “There’s nothing that I can hear at the White House that I don’t understand about the situation,” he said. “Let the president spend time with people whose minds he might change. He’s just not going to change my mind.”
Congresspersons Andy Ogles (R-TN) and Jodey Arrington (R-TX) are also expected to vote no on the President's bill calling it "The American people want and expect results, not more fiscal trickery,” and “Unserious and disappointing" respectively.
Republicans in the House claim the problem stems from the $4 billion spending cuts from the Senate. It is not even half of the $2 trillion in spending cuts that the House has already approved.
The House and the Senate must adopt the same resolution. Which is why Trump went off on approving the bill on Truth Social Wednesday morning, posting, "Republicans, it is more important now, than ever, that we pass THE ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL. The USA will Soar like never before!!!"
He later added, "It is IMPERATIVE that Republicans in the House pass the Tax Cut Bill, NOW! Our Country Will Boom!!!"
