A reporter confronted President Donald Trump about his promise to end Russia's war on Ukraine in "one day" if he were re-elected in 2024.
During a NATO news conference on Wednesday, a reporter from Austrian National Television questioned Trump about his campaign promises.
"You once said that you would end the Ukraine war in 24 hours," the reporter noted. "You later said you said that sarcastically."
"Of course it was sarcastic," Trump grumbled.
"But you've now been in office for five months and five days," the reporter countered. "Why have you not been able to end the Ukraine war?"
"Because it's more difficult than... people would have any idea," the president insisted. "Vladimir Putin has been more difficult. Frankly, I had some problems with Zelenskyy."
"And it's been more difficult than other wars," he continued.
Trump went on to tout his alleged accomplishments in other wars, like Iraq, the Congo, and Pakistan.
"We stopped the nuclear war," he said of the Pakistan-India conflict.
