Remember on Tuesday when Donald Trump finally said he'd stop talking about Judge Gonzalo Curiel, the judge who is overseeing the Trump University lawsuit and whom Trump has accused of being biased against him due to his "Mexican" heritage? Well, in an interview with conservative pundit Cal Thomas that was conducted two days ago and posted today, we see just how much Trump seems personally offended that anyone would call Trump U's integrity into question.
During the interview, Thomas asked Trump if he was finally getting ready to "pivot" to the general election where he'd be talking more about issues and less about judges who have supposedly done him wrong. This being Trump, he couldn't help to go off on a long rant about how unfairly he was being treated by this "nasty" judge.
"Yes, the reason I bring up the (Trump University) lawsuit, because it is a lawsuit I am going to win," said Trump. "I have thousands of students who loved the school and I’ve been treated very unfairly in that lawsuit. I don’t care if a judge is Mexican or what. What I care about is to be treated fairly. And the only reason I spent time on it is when they ask me a question, instead of saying I have no comment and then winning the case two years from now, I’d rather bring up parts of the case. For instance, you possibly didn’t know I have many thousands of letters saying the course was great. And people have actually been successful after they took the course. It’s worth my while to explain this because people then say, 'Wow, I never knew that.'"
Thomas quickly tried to change the subject and he moved on to asking about entitlements -- he clearly didn't want to get Trump going too far down this particular rabbit hole.
