Tucker Carlson: Duke Univ. 'not inclusive' until they read anti-gay Bible verses on campus quad

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Sunday accused Duke University of not being truly "inclusive" because the school had offered to let Muslim students issue a call-to-prayer from the Chapel bell tower, but had not promoted anti-gay portions of the Christian Bible.

After Fox News began focusing on news that Muslims at Duke would be able to use the bell tower for a weekly call-to-prayer, the university announced over the weekend that it had been forced to reverse its decision due to "serious and credible safety concerns."

On the Saturday edition of Fox & Friends, Carlson said that Duke's claim that it was showing inclusiveness in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks on Charlie Hebdo was a "total crock."

"There's nothing inclusive about Duke," he insisted. "Notice they're not giving equal time to, say, evangelical pro-life messages. They're not broadcasting those over the loudspeakers on the chapel. If you got in the middle of the Duke quad and read sections of the Bible that criticized homosexuality, you'd be dragged away by school security."

"They're not inclusive, they're making a political statement about how they're on the side of Muslims!"

Carlson also accused Duke of lying about receiving threats after Fox News began complaining about the weekly Muslim call-to-prayer.

"This external threat stuff, we did a story on the Daily Caller about this woman from Ohio who called in to say I disagree with this decision," he said. "She got a call from the cops! She wasn't threatening -- she says she wasn't threatening anybody."

"I don't buy this external threat thing," Carlson remarked. "I think this is just another way to pretend that they're being persecuted."
