'You’re dead to me': Veteran cop arrested for strangling his son while the two had dinner

An Oklahoma police sergeant is on paid administrative leave after choking his son, reported KFOR news. 

Sgt. Jesse McCord, a veteran of the Tecumseh Police Department strangled his son Taylor after an argument. Cpl. Vivian Lozano with the Shawnee Police Department said the incident broke out at a Buffalo Wild Wings while  McCord and Taylor were out for dinner and drinks.

"They were having a conversation, which ended up heated, and an argument started," Lozano said.

They two began arguing, and Taylor told his dad to leave the restaurant.

"I came with you, and you can't make me get up, " McCord said. He then lashed out at this son by saying, "You're f*cking dead to me, you worthless piece of sh*it."

Taylor claimed that his father leaped out of the car, and began choking him. "Strangulation is very serious. He was treated and released at the hospital. I'm not sure how injured he was or anything, but he was released," Lozano said.

McCord was arrested and taken to Pottawatomie County jail. He was charged with assault and battery-strangulation. He was released from jail on bond.
