VIDEO: Florida face-eating teen murderer was wearing 'Make America Great Again' Trump hat

The Florida 19-year-old who stabbed a couple to death and was biting off parts of the man's face when police arrived was a Trump supporter.

The Palm Beach Post reported that when Austin Kelly Harrouff's mother called 911 to report her son missing, she told the dispatcher that he was talking about being "immortal" and "a superhero" on a mission to save people.

Mina Harrouff described what her son was wearing as white shorts, a blue polo shirt and a red "Make America Great Again" hat from the Trump 2016 campaign. She told the dispatcher he believed he was carrying a pocket knife, but, "I think that is all he has on him."

On Monday night, Austin Harrouff and his family were at Duffy's Sports Grill in Jupiter, FL. Harrouff had been acting erratic, telling his mother he felt as if he had special powers like immortality. At around 10 p.m., after an argument with his father, the Florida State University student stormed out of the restaurant and disappeared.

Police now believe that Harrouff was high on drugs, possibly the synthetic stimulant known as Flakka. He attacked a middle-aged couple, stabbing them to death with his pocketknife. He also attacked a neighbor who tried to intervene in the attack, stabbing him several times.

When police arrived, they found Harrouff hunched over the bodies of John Stevens, 59, and his wife, 53-year-old Michelle Mishcon. Police say he was tearing chunks of Stevens' face off with his teeth and eating them.

Three sheriff's deputies surrounded him. They used a Taser on him, but Harrouff appeared to be "abnormally strong" -- possibly from the influence of drugs. He was ultimately subdued and taken into custody.

Harrouff is currently hospitalized under heavy sedation, according to CBS 12 News.
