Washington man arrested for online threat against Obama

A Seattle-area man was arrested Tuesday after emailing a threat against President Barack Obama to an FBI account.

According to KOMO-TV, Secret Service agents went to the Federal Way home of 31-year-old Anton Caluori immediately after the emails were intercepted. The nature of the threat was not revealed, but when authorities reached Caluori's apartment, a local police spokesperson said, they got an unwelcome surprise.

"When the door opened, he was armed," Cathy Shrock told KING-TV. "It was brandished at the federal agent and the federal police officer."

Caluori was taken into custody and confiscated two weapons on the premises. A bomb squad was also called in to sweep the home for explosives following some comments by Caluori.

"He has a good education, he's a good boy, but he's done a stupid thing," Caluori's mother, Renee, told local media. "I don't know a whole lot. How would you feel if your son got arrested? Never got arrested, was in the military, has a college education. And I'm just a little bit upset and shocked."

Caluori is scheduled to appear in federal court Wednesday.
