WATCH: Angry protesters shred Ann Coulter’s anti-immigrant screed at Orange County book signing

Immigrants' rights activists angry with right-wing pundit Ann Coulter's fear-mongering about immigrants showed up with a surprise protest at her book signing on Friday in Orange County, California.

Chanting, "2, 4, 6 ,8, we don't need your racist hate," the group emerged from a coffee shop with signs bearing messages like" a, "Adios, Ann Coulter," "No human is illegal" and "You're an immigrant too," according to OC Weekly reporter Gabriel San Roman.

Video appears to show protesters standing on the second floor of the store and unfurling their "Adios Ann Coulter" banner over the banister when they start chanting, "se ve, se siente, el pueblo esta presente" which roughly translated means, "you see and feel that the community is here."

San Roman attended her book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Costa Mesa, purchased a copy and stood in line.

"About 75 or so people turned out for their Know Nothing heroine, sad numbers for a city so frothing with anti-immigrant hysteria that they approved a plan to deputize cops as ICE agents years back," San Roman wrote in the Weekly's blog section.

When he got to the front of the line, San Roman asked Coulter how many Mexicans come to her book signing, to which she jovially replied that "some" come through, "about 20 %." San Roman then pointed out he was the only Mexican there.

"This isn't a question and answer session," Coulter barked at him. At this point, San Roman was kicked out.

When he left the bookstore, he handed his copy of Coulter's book to protesters gathered outside, and they promptly shredded it. The protest drew about 50 people, according to the OC Register.

Coulter doubled down on her typically inflammatory rhetoric, telling Breitbart on Friday that "as long as they were destroying books and screaming in a book store, they weren’t molesting any 4-year-olds."

Contrary to rumors that protesters had been violent or disrespectful, San Roman reports that there were no arrests and in fact, a police officer stopped to snap a group photo for the protesters. They also cleaned up the pieces of the book they had shredded.
