WATCH: Arizona GOP lawmaker busted for speeding brags to cop that he regularly drives 140 miles per hour

Republican Arizona state Rep. Paul Mosley this year was pulled over for driving 97 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone -- and then he proceeded to brag to the officer who pulled him over that he regularly drives even faster.

Per the Arizona Republic, body camera footage from a La Paz County Sheriff’s deputy released this week shows Mosley smirking as the officer approaches his vehicle to hand him a citation for speeding, despite the fact that he has just been caught going over 40 miles per hour over the speed limit.

"Please watch your speed, sir, regardless of whether you're trying to get home," the officer tells Mosley.

"Well, I was doing 120 earlier," Mosley replies with a smile on his face.

"Really?" the officer asks.

"Yeah!" he replies. "This [car] goes to 140. That's what I like about it!"

When asked by the officer if he really meant that he was driving that fast, Mosley replied, "Yeah, I go 130, 140."

Mosley then clarified that he "didn't even notice I was going this fast because, this car, you know, nice wheels."

According to the Arizona Republic, the deputy wrote in his report that "Mosley... told me that I should just let him go and that I shouldn’t waste anymore of my time dealing with him due to his immunity as a government official."
