Fox News host Geraldo Rivera on Monday called out fellow Fox News host Steve Doocy after he claimed that fighting global climate change was a waste of time because the Earth was actually cooling down.

Reporting from climate talks in Paris, Rivera noted that President Barack Obama recognized that "the more urgent problem is the problem of security, the problem of refugees, the problem of the war against ISIS in Syria."

"We're not going to argue about climate change," Doocy explained. "Although we do know that over the last couple of decades, for the most part, has stabilized or gone down a little bit."

"Let me just gently disagree -- and you know I love you slightly," Rivera replied. "This will be -- 2015 -- the hottest year on record. We've had nine out of 10 hottest years since the year 2000 in this century. So, I think the planet is getting warmer. I think the question is what's responsible."

"Global warming has slowed significantly over the last two decades," Doocy said, raising his voice to interrupt his colleague.

"I am not going to debate climate change with you buddy," Rivera laughed. "I'm not going to debate climate change or religion or politics."

Co-host Brian Kilmeade weighed in at the conclusion of Rivera's report to say that the U.K. was "pulling off" of addressing global climate change.

"Because they're starting to look around, saying, in fact, one in five say it's a natural cause, any changes in weather," Kilmeade argued. "As opposed to one in 14 who thought it was a natural change in weather."

"There's a move away from this while the president is moving into this," he added. "And when he comes back home, Senate Republicans want to make sure he's not going to jam an executive order down our throats."
