WATCH: 'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe explains the key differences between Trump and Voldemort

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is something of an expert on Voldemort, the bigoted wizard who wants to permanently place non-magical humans in a position of servitude.

Mashable notes that in an interview with the U.K.'s Sky News, Radcliffe explains that while there are similarities between Voldemort and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, there are also some crucial differences that set them apart as well.

Don't think for a minute, however, that those differences necessarily reflect well on Trump.

"I sort of think Donald Trump might not be as... ideologically pure as Voldemort," Radcliffe said. "My thing on Trump is that he feels like more of an opportunist, like I don't know how much of this stuff he's saying he actually really, really believes."

Radcliffe concedes that the comparison is "not without its merits," but he seems to think Trump simply uses racial divisions to achieve power, whereas Voldemort was a true believer in the racial inferiority of "muggles."
