Police in Missouri have disputed a white man's viral Facebook post claiming he was assaulted by a black man and Hispanic man at a gas station, saying he started it by attacking them with a knife.
According to KMOV, authorities in Florissant were alerted about the altercation that left the white man bloodied via the social media post, but a review of surveillance video showed the white man and his companion instigated the fight.
In the video, a white woman accompanying the man approaches the car containing the accused assailants and argued with them, which led to a non-violent confrontation in the BP gas station parking lot.
Things escalated when the white man charged from his car with a knife in his hand.
When the white man returned to his car he attempted to back into the men, which led the black man to punch him through the driver's side window.
According to police, everyone involved in the incident has been interviewed and charged, but they did not release any of the names.
