Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is scheduled to speak at an event in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Sanders met with President Barack Obama and as CNN reported, he announced after the meeting that he would "work as hard as I can to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president of the United States," signaling solidarity with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Obama also formally endorsed Clinton as the party's presidential nominee on Thursday.
