A new three-person crew is launching to the International Space Station atop a Russian rocket today.
The Soyuz spacecraft will be departing from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The six-hour flight bearing three new crew members will boost the lab’s crew back to six as they prepare for a busy winter of research and assembly work.
NASA astronaut Terry Virts, European Space Agency astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, and cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov will join Expedition 42 commander Barry “Butch” Wilmore, Alexander Samokutyaev, and Elena Serova, who came aboard the station on Sept. 25.
