WATCH LIVE: 'Justice 4 All' protests underway in Washington, D.C. and New York
December 13, 2014
A demonstration against police violence got underway in Washington D.C. on Saturday morning in advance of a march that is expected to attract thousands of protesters.
As Reuters reported, the marches in the nation's capitol and New York City are the latest iteration of protests that have unfolded in the wake of a grand jury's decision last month not to indict Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown this past August.
The protests were seemingly reinvigorated after a Staten Island grand jury declined to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Eric Garner, leading to mass demonstrations around the country.
Saturday's events, which are expected to lead into protest marches, have been dubbed "Justice 4 All" in honor of not only Brown and Garner, but Trayvon Martin, Akai Gurley and other victims.
