‘Welcome back, n*ggers!’ DL Hughley says Obama was just an 'intermission' -- and Trump is Act 2

Radio host DL Hughley sounded off on Donald Trump's election this week -- and he says it's sadly not surprising given America's history.

Talking on his radio show, Hughley recounted racist quotes from past presidents -- including quotes from Democratic heroes such as Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson.

Hughley then went on to argue that Trump's win shouldn't be so shocking given that our country has long looked the other way when it comes to electing white people who look down upon black Americans.

"I think America is used to people like Trump," Hughley said. "See, we thought Barack Obama changed America. Barack Obama was the intermission... For eight years we got, 'Oh wow, things are moving along!' You can go get drinks, you can go use the bathroom, and you can look over your play bills... Donald Trump is the show going on as usual."

Hughley said that Obama's presidency may have lulled people into thinking that race relations in the country had permanently changed, but Trump's election was like the second act of the play starting and someone coming out on stage to say, "Welcome back, n*ggers!"
