Whistleblower says he hasn’t been contacted by Jan. 6 committee despite ‘explosive report’ on the Capitol Police

A Capitol Police whistleblower came forward saying that he witnessed senior leaders in the department standing motionless watching the attack unfold on television instead of rushing to help their officers. At the time, Congress said that it would be reaching out to add that to their investigation.

According to Politico, however, the whistleblower still hasn't been contacted by the Jan. 6 House Select Committee probing the incident, those who participated in the organization and what led to the violence.

"He said the police force deserves more attention from the select committee than it's gotten so far, and added that he would talk to investigators if they reach out," said the report, not citing the former high-ranking department official.

The House is currently attempting to enforce subpoenas for key players in former President Donald Trump's circle. The committee voted Tuesday to pass criminal contempt of Congress charges onto the full House for a vote.
