WATCH: Whoopi Goldberg laughs at the jail time Trump could face for espionage

The co-hosts of "The View" were gleeful to hear that former President Donald Trump got a target letter from the Justice Department warning that indictment was imminent.

Even former White House communications aide Alyssa Farah Griffin was all smiles as the conversation turned to possible prison time for her former boss. Further, she was bothered by former Vice President Mike Pence dancing around about whether he would grant Trump a pardon if he became president.

After listing off some of Pence's problems during the CNN town hall, she confessed that she was "bummed" about the former VP being "indistinguishable" from all of the other candidates in the race.

"I was not bummed that he received a target letter — that Donald Trump received a target letter," she said.

"I really enjoyed the target letter myself as well," Sunny Hostin said. She confessed she'd been bothered by the slowness of the investigation but is relieved that she thinks prosecutors took the time and care to gather the necessary information.

"The worst thing you can get when you're a potential criminal defendant is a target letter because we used to call it bug, beer, turn. Either your phone is bugged, you're going to turn and cooperate, or baby, you are it. That's the target letter. The target letter basically says you are the target of a Department of Justice investigation. I will tell you that federal prosecutors have a 99.6% conviction rate."

"Only 2% of criminal defendants go to trial," Hostin continued. "Most who do are found guilty. This is a paper case. It's about classified documents. As Alyssa said, we're talking about the Espionage Act, and that's 10 years in prison."

Whoopi Goldberg let out a giggle.

Ana Navarro said she was "downright gleeful" about the idea that Trump was the DOJ's target. When it came to Mike Pence, however, she was disgusted by his town hall.

"I think he revealed himself as such a hypocrite I can barely think about it, right?" Navarro said. "He goes on and on about how nobody should be above the Constitution, about how Donald Trump should be nowhere near the presidency. Then he says, yeah, I signed the RNC pledge, and I will support the nominee, whoever it is. I hope it's me."

"Well, that means if it's Trump, he is going to vote for Trump. Then he says, you know what, we need to unite this country. There needs to be more civility, less hostility when we speak, and he goes on to talk about the radical left, radical gender police, and he sounded radically crazy to me. He talks on and on about his religion, Christianity, and compassion except when it comes to immigration. Parental rights, except when parents think transgender children should get treatment even when they're minors. Parents get to choose everything else about their children but that. He came off as a holier than thou, pious hypocrite."
