CNN host Wolf Blitzer pressed Katrina Pierson on Tuesday over whether Donald Trump was changing his stance on a specific type of gun sale ban in the wake of the Orlando mass shooting attack.
"Yes or no -- does he believe that people on the terrorist watch list or the no-fly list should be able to purchase guns in the United States?" he asked.
"He believes that terrorists --" Pierson began to say.
"Yes or no," Blitzer said, cutting her off. "Forget about terrorists."
"There is no yes or no to this," Pierson insisted. "Mr. Trump does not want to remove a Second Amendment right from Americans without due process. That is your answer."
"So he's changed his position from what he tweeted last week," the host repeated.
"He has not changed his position," she said. "His position last week was, he was tweeting about having meetings. That is not a policy change, Wolf."
"This is what he said: 'I will be meeting with the NRA, who has endorsed me, about not allowing people on the terrorist watch list, or the no fly list, to buy guns,'" Blitzer said, reciting the candidate's tweet shortly after the mass shooting.
"In subsequent interview, he made it clear he doesn't believe people on the terrorist watch list or the no-fly list should be able to purchase guns in the United States," he added. "What you're saying now is simply what the NRA says, that terrorists should not be able to purchase guns."
"The purpose or the no-fly list or the terror watch list, no one really knows," she replied. "How do you get on that list? How do you get off that list? If that was the case, how did [Omar Mateen, the gunman in Orlando] not be on that list? There's a lot of clarification that needs to occur before having future discussions."
