'Young Turks' Kasparian rips Fox 'f*ckers' for trumped-up anger over Obama's coffee

Young Turks host Ana Kasparian blasted former Rep. Allen West (R-FL) on Wednesday for hopping on the conservative bandwagon criticizing President Barack Obama for allegedly disrespecting military officers in New York City on Sunday.

"Who is Allen West? What is Allen West doing with his time?" Kasparian asked of the former Republican presidential candidate. "He's the most irrelevant person in America."

"Sarah Palin," co-host John Iadarola said, offering an alternative.

"I think Sarah Palin might be a little more relevant than him," Kasparian countered. "What drives me insane is that these are the people who are constantly fear-mongering about terrorist groups abroad, right? And instead of focusing on that and maybe talking about what their solutions might be, let's complain about Obama holding a coffee cup. What do they want him to do, curtsy?"

West and other Fox News contributors have been complaining about what ABC News dubbed the "latte salute": footage of Obama saluting a pair of Marine Corps officers while holding a coffee cup.

Iadarola pointed out that, as MSNBC host Rachel Maddow reported in her book Drift, the idea of a president saluting officers gained traction within the last 30 years, when Ronald Reagan began doing so and encouraged his vice-president, George H.W. Bush, to do the same. He also noted that Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush, was caught saluting troops while seemingly snuggling with his dog, in an image also posted by Media Matters:

Kasparian also ripped conservatives for acting like they hold the military in high regard, while cutting aid that should go toward the poor in favor of sending troops into more "preemptive wars and unjustified war."

"These f*ckers are focusing on the most dumb, ridiculous thing I've ever heard of in my entire life," she said.
