Meta employees are reportedly in "emotional freefall" as they watch Mark Zuckerberg transform from tech nerd to Trump cheerleader — and his transformation has earned him the internal nickname "MAGA Mark," according to a Financial Times investigation.
The 41-year-old billionaire has ditched his signature hoodies for gold chains and a $900,000 watch, while trading his military haircut for what one report called a "luxuriant ginger mullet." But it's his political pivot that has staff horrified.
After appearing on Joe Rogan's podcast calling for more "masculine energy" in the workplace, Zuckerberg reportedly told questioning employees: "If you don't like it, tough s--t."
The comment earned him the moniker "emperor of the Broman Empire."
The transformation goes deeper than aesthetics. Zuckerberg has aligned himself with Trump's inner circle, including UFC boss Dana White and other "manosphere" influencers. Just weeks before Trump's inauguration, Meta announced it would gut content moderation, scrap fact-checking, and slash diversity programs.
Sources told the FT there were even discussions about Zuckerberg joining Trump's science advisory council, with Trump reportedly "loving to introduce Mark around" at events.
"It's gone from 'lean in' to 'f--k off,'" one former senior employee said, describing the cultural whiplash inside the company.
Some insiders claim this is the "authentic" Zuckerberg finally emerging. Others warn his political realignment could backfire spectacularly.
Even Trump allies remain skeptical. Steve Bannon insisted Zuckerberg "can't be trusted," while a former staffer wondered what happens if political winds shift: "Everybody knows he kissed the ring."
