'100 percent': Trump caught on hot mic guaranteeing GOP rep he'll release Nunes memo

Donald Trump on Tuesday guaranteed Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) he’ll release a controversial memo by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA).

“Great speech,” Duncan said following Trump’s State of the Union address. “Release the memo.”

“Oh yeah, don’t worry,” Trump replied. “100 percent.”

Trump’s promise to Duncan contradicted the official White House position on the memo, which alleges surveillance abuse by the FBI and DOJ during the 2016 presidential election. While reports indicate Trump is inclined to release the memo, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday said the president has not yet decided whether to release the memo.

"Contrary to a published report, there are no current plans to release the House Intelligence Committee's memo," Sanders said. "The President has not seen or been briefed on the memo or reviewed its contents."
