Watch live: Shooter taken into custody at Pittsburgh synagogue with 11 reported fatalities

According to BNO, there was a shooting at a Pittsburgh-area synagogue that left a reported 11 dead and more wounded.

The report states the incident began just before 10 a.m. at the Tree of Life Congregation Synagogue.

“There is an active shooter in the area of WILKINS and Shady,” the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department initially said in a tweet. “Avoid the area. More info will be released when it is available.”

The hour-long incident left 11 dead at Tree of Life Congregation, according to Lynette Lederman, executive assistant to city council member Corey O’Connor, reports the Washington Post.

According to a CNN report, the man was reportedly carrying an AR-style weapon as well as two handguns and made anti-Semitic comments.

The alleged shooter shouted, “All Jews must die” upon entering the synagogue, reports KDKA.

The gunmanwas later identified as 46-year-old Robert Bowers.
