Al Franken nails Trump's 'locker room talk' about groping women: 'He may work out with Roger Ailes'

Sen. Al Franken used to see Donald Trump around New York City, when they both lived there and worked in the entertainment industry, but he never thought the future presidential candidate would be someone he'd like to know.

The Minnesota Democrat and former Saturday Night Live writer told Seth Meyers he didn't run in the same circles as Trump, but he recalled an encounter with the real estate developer and reality TV star at a promotional screening of "The Sopranos."

"Before the lights go out, for some reason I just say -- and I have a loud voice, and I say this as loud as I can -- that is the worst combover I've ever seen," Franken said.

Trump turned around in his seat to see who'd said that, and he spotted Franken nearby and made a pained grimace -- but he didn't respond.

"He had nothing," Franken said.

The U.S. senator strongly disputed Trump's excuse for his 2005 comments on a hot mic, where the Republican presidential nominee boasted that he could get away with grabbing women's genitals without their consent because he was rich and famous.

"I've been in a lot of locker rooms," Franken said. "I belong to a health club in Minneapolis -- I think you can tell."

But he's never heard men engage in locker room talk about forcibly kissing or grabbing women with impunity.

"Our locker room banter is stuff like, 'Is Trump crazy?'" Franken said. "So I don't know what locker room -- he may work out with Roger Ailes."
