Ana Navarro slams Ted Cruz and other Republicans for 'sucking up' to racist Steve King

On Monday, Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy met with Rep. Steve King (R-IA) to address his racist comments commending white nationalism.

Republican commentator Ana Navarro appeared on CNN to denounce King—but also his enablers in the Republican Party, who for years turned a blind eye to his blatant racism.

"First of all, every Republican being asked about this including people like Ted Cruz who have been hunting with the guy, who sucked up to the guy when he was running in Iowa," she noted. "Should say they regret not having done it earlier."

"They have enabled Steve King, looked the other way. This is a guy who has not evolved. What he said is consistent with statements he has made throughout his career. It's the only thing he knows how to do. It's a racist thing. It is his reason for being."

The hosts went on to point out that one prominent Republican has not spoken out even now: President Donald Trump.
