A fed-up CNN anchor Anderson Cooper cut off a former Republican congressman three times as the ex-lawmaker tried to defend Donald Trump's assertion Sunday that one-fifth of mail-in ballots in a key battleground state are "fraudulent."
The former Republican president took to Truth Social on Sunday afternoon to promote the baseless claim that "20% of the Mail-In Ballots in Pennsylvania are fraudulent."
"Here we go again! Where is the U.S. Attorney General and FBI to INVESTIGATE? Where is the Pennsylvania Republican Party?" wrote Trump. "We Will WIN Pennsylvania by a lot, unless the Dems are allowed to CHEAT."
On Monday night, former Virginia Republican Rep. Scott Taylor and former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois squared off over the claim.
When Cooper asked Taylor if Trump's post is "acceptable," Taylor responded that there are "literally millions of Americans who had a big problem with 2020."
Cooper cut his guest off and pushed back.
"I know but just factually, they don't have any evidence. Like courts looked at it. I know a lot of people because it's promoted on a lot of networks and a lot of radio networks. Just saying, 'A lot of people feel this' doesn't make it true. I think you know it's not true, I assume, but there's no evidence."

Not to be deterred, Taylor repeated himself.'
"As I said before there are tons of irregularities in the 2020 election that had never happened before, right?" he said.
As Taylor tried to continue his thought, Cooper interjected a second time.
"What kinds of irregularities? What are the tons of irregularities?" he asked.
Taylor pointed to the suspension of state laws that hadn't happened before the coronavirus and "unsecure" drop boxes.
"There's tons of things out there that changed in 2020 that are still there now," he said, noting he ran and lost in 2020.
"There are many people including folks in my family who have issues with the way 2020 was handled, had issues with Zucker bucks for example, hundreds of millions of dollars being sent through nonprofits to do get-out-the votes ..." he added.
Cooper cut his guest off a third time.
"There's people who think the Earth is flat, again ... there's people around the dinner table who think the Earth is flat. It doesn't make it real."
"What I just mentioned to you, those are facts," Taylor finished.
Cooper asked Kinzinger if Trump's election-related conspiracies are "normal," to which the Republican former lawmaker replied, "It's disgusting."
"Man, Scott, I love you but come on, dude. Our words have an impact on this country" he emphasized, to a laugh from Taylor.
