Andrea Tantaros issues lie detector challenge to Fox News -- and the questions alone are damning

Andrea Tantaros this week followed up her blistering sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox News by issuing a lie detector challenge for network executives and former chairman Roger Ailes.

In a lawsuit filed last week, Tantaros accused Fox News of operating "like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny."

The network, however, has continued to claim that Tantaros trumped up charges of sexual harassment to gain leverage in contract negotiations.

On Monday, Tantaros' lawyers called on Ailes and network executives to stand behind their defense by taking a lie detector test.

"ANDREA TANTAROS ISSUES A LIE DETECTOR CHALLENGE TO FOX NEWS," lawyers for the former host announced in an email to media on Monday, according to BuzzFeed's Kyle Blaine.

The letter stated that Tantaros would "submit to a lie detector test pursuant to which she will answer any and all questions chosen by Fox News about the truth of the allegations in her complaint."

In return, lawyers for Tantaros called on Ailes and Fox News employees to answer very specific questions.

Ailes would have to answer if he ever asked Tantaros to "turn around" for him, and other questions suggesting that he had tried to have her email account hacked.

Fox News co-president Bill Shine, who is running the network after Ailes was forced out over allegations from multiple female employees, would be forced to answer questions about whether Tantaros complained to him about sexual harassment and retaliation. Tantaros also wants Shine to say whether he knew that Fox News had tried to smear her on social media using so-called "sock puppet" accounts.

Questions for host Bill O'Reilly and network PR flack Irena Briganti hint that Tantaros and another employee had a "physical altercation."

"An innocent person would jump at the chance for this kind of vindication," lawyers for the former host wrote in the letter. "And if Ms. Tantaros were not telling the truth she would not risk offering this proposal."
