'What about full transparency?' MAGA Host grills GOP lawmaker on Matt Gaetz ethics report

Pro-MAGA TV host David Brody confronted Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) about providing "full transparency" after he claimed that releasing an ethics report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), the nominee for attorney general, would be "unethical."

During a Wednesday interview with Clyde, Brody noted that President-elect Donald Trump's nominations were "turning into The Apprentice."

"This afternoon, the House Ethics Committee, as you know, is going to meet to discuss, possibly decide, whether the report looking into those alleged sexual misconduct allegations against Gaetz will be released," Brody explained. "They just need one Republican to side with the Democrats on this committee for it to be released."

Clyde said he opposed releasing the report, which allegedly would indicate that witnesses said Gaetz paid for sex with an underage girl.

"Well, I think for them to release this report, this interim report, would be absolutely unethical for the committee to do that," Clyde opined. "Matt Gaetz is no longer a member of Congress. The Ethics Committee has no authority whatsoever over Matt Gaetz. For them to release this report would be unethical."

"Matt Gaetz is a phenomenal pick by President Trump," he continued. "The President deserves to have the cabinet that he chooses, and I think Matt Gaetz will do an amazing job to eliminate the weaponization in the Department of Justice."

"What about full transparency?" Brody asked. "The argument that, you know what, let the Senators see it. If they've got advise and consent, they need to see it."

Clyde, however, cited President Joe Biden's justice department instead of addressing the need for "full transparency."

"If the Biden Department of Justice did not prosecute Matt Gaetz, and believe me, they're not a Department of Justice right now that's in favor of Matt Gaetz," the lawmaker insisted. "If they chose not to prosecute him because, you know, there was no evidence there, then the Ethics Committee doesn't need to be releasing, you know, basically innuendo and false claims."

Clyde did not offer evidence to support his assertion that witnesses made false claims against Gaetz.
