'Shame on you': Ann Coulter slammed for comparing J.D. Vance's beard to a burqa

Republican pundit Ann Coulter Thursday presented a thought-provoking analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of a potential running mate of former President Donald Trump.

Or, she took a sneering jab at Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance's face by comparing his beard to a burqa.

"Look at him WITHOUT the beard," Coulter posted on X Thursday, alongside a photograph. "Burqas and beards are good for some people."

Coulter, of course, is the conservative shock jock who shot to fame in the era of President George W. Bush with hot takes that include:

1. Defending a white supremacist group that calls gay people "perverted sodomites."
2. Regretting that American domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh never targeted the New York Times building.
3. Arguing a bombing suspect's wife should be imprisoned for wearing a hijab.

Not surprisingly, Coulter's most recent hot take managed to infuriate many of the people who took the time to comment on it.

"This is small and petty," replied X user Jenn B. "Shame on you."

"Ann, you’ve lost so many," added Marcus Gilkeson. "Sad."

Others felt comfortable skating right past the none-too-subtle anti-Muslim undertones of Coulter's comment, with one going to far as to bemoan the victimhood of a very select group.

"Ann Coulter," replied X user John Ingram. "Do not clean-shave shame."

There were still more who found Coulter's comment a hilarious takedown of a man they compared in physical appearance to would-be assassin of former President Ronald Reagan John Hinkley, Jr., an animated character from "Puss in Boots", serial killer John Wayne Gacy, and actor Oliver Platt.

Very few who entered into the conversation with Coulter walked away a better informed citizen or more empathetic human being.

One person was forced into it by her editor and is now wondering if 2 p.m. is too early to stop drinking. Yes, stop.

For his part, X user Chicagoland man decided to meet Coulter where she was at, replying simply, "OK big bird."
