Ann Coulter calls on Trump to blow off GOP leaders: 'He is the party, he is the heart and soul'

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter argued on Tuesday that presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump should not bother meeting with Republicans -- like House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) -- who disagree with him because he had already proven to be the "heart and soul" of the party.

"It shows that Trump is being unbelievably gracious," Coulter told MSNBC host Chris Matthews. "He doesn't need to have this meeting [with Paul Ryan]. He is the party. He is the heart and soul of the party."

"The people are with him and there's no point in meeting with these generals without armies," she insisted.

Before ending the segment, Matthews gave Coulter an opportunity to tease her new book, In Trump We Trust.

"I might quote you," Coulter explained to the MSNBC host. "You and I think one other person on TV were the only ones in media who were not utterly contemptuously dismissive of Trump."
