In a post to his website Tuesday, Donald Trump took a direct swipe at the judge overseeing his New York fraud trial in a long post that accused Judge Arthur Engoron of being a "A Far-Left Democrat."
Trump pointed to comments Engoron made in February of last year, where he said Trump is “just a bad guy” in response to a lawyer who argued that the former president was being unfairly singled out by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
"Judge Engoron Claims He Knows More About The Value Of The Business Empire Of President Trump Than His Banks, Business Partners, Accountants, Employees, And Insurers," Trump wrote.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
"Judge Engoron Has Been A Democrat Donor Since the 90’s," Trump continued. "In 2015, A List Of Democrats Including Barack Obama Were On The Induction Letter Of Engoron As A Justice Of The Supreme Court Of The State Of New York."
According to reports, Engoron has contributed thousands of dollars over the years to Democrats. According to The Gazette, Engoron's donations "were made in New York and include a 2018 transfer to the Manhattan Democrats, as well as contributions to ex-New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, ex-Gov. David Paterson, and various state lawmakers. Most of the cash was directed to local committees, campaign finance disclosures show."
Earlier in the day, Trump attacked Engoron's law clerk, saying – without offering evidence – that she was Sen. Charles Schumer's girlfriend.
