A Manhattan criminal defense attorney bashed President Donald Trump and his cronies for prematurely celebrating the "no collusion" findings in special counsel Robert Mueller's report.
MSNBC host Kendis Gibson noted that Trump has called Mueller's investigation a "fishing expedition" — and caused lawyer Randy Zelin to point out that the other probes into his alleged wrongdoing — especially in his and the president's shared backyard — are still ongoing and could still hurt him.
"Fine, then what do you have to say about the Southern District [of New York], which ain’t a fishing expedition?" Zelin mused.
"You have Michael Cohen, who's already pleaded guilty, you have evidence of campaign finance violations, you have investigations into, now, Trump Organization business dealings, insurance fraud, tax fraud, all kinds of fraud which are unrelated to the Russia investigation," the attorney declared. "So how does the Mueller report extricate the president from his problems?"
Gibson asked Zelin if he would be celebrating with the president if he were "down there in Mar-a-Lago," to which the attorney whose office sits adjacent to Trump Tower replied, "I would not."
