Avenatti: Michael Cohen will 'rightfully pay a very steep price' for not coming clean about Trump

Attorney Michael Avenatti had harsh predictions for longtime Donald Trump fixer Michael Cohen.

"Michael Cohen should have done the right thing when he had the chance," Avenatti, the attorney representing Stormy Daniels, tweeted Tuesday.

"He should have come clean and publicly disclosed everything he knew if he was a true 'Patriot,'" he argued.

"He and his lawyers completely misplayed this and now he will rightfully pay a very steep price," Avenatti predicted.

Also on Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Cohen is under federal investigation for tax fraud.
