Former New York City police commissioner Bernie Kerik is preparing to sit down with special counsel Jack Smith's team.
Kerik worked with Rudy Giuliani after the 2020 election to find evidence of voter fraud, and his attorney said Tuesday that he was in talks to be interviewed by Department of Justice investigators, reported The Daily Beast.
"Mr. Kerik has nothing to hide," attorney Tim Parlatore told CNN. "He’s happy to sit down and explain everything to them.”
Parlatore, who left Donald Trump's legal team in May and now represents Kerik, said he didn't expect the former police commissioner to receive a target letter like the former president.

Trump pardoned Kerik, who rose to fame after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, after he pleaded guilty in 2010 to eight felony charges, including failure to pay taxes and lying to White House officials during a failed nomination to be the Secretary of Homeland Security.
Kerik served three years in prison after admitting to lying about the immigration status of his family's nanny and receiving more than $250,000 in renovations for his apartment in the Bronx from a company accused of having Mafia ties and aiding the construction company's bids for city contracts.
