Biden: Cheney 'not entitled to re-write history'

Earlier, Cheney told ABC's Jonathan Karl that Biden was "dead wrong" in his recent assertion that a 9/11-style attack wasn't likely in the near future. Biden responded on NBC, saying Cheney is "outspoken in a way" that suggests he is trying to re-write the history of America's fight against terrorism.
"Cheney is entitled to his own opinion," Biden said, choosing his words carefully. "He is not entitled to re-write history. He is not entitled to his own facts."
"What about the general proposition that the President... is essentially soft on terrorism," NBC's David Gregory asked Biden.
"I don't think the former Vice President listens," Biden responded. "The President of the United States said in the State of the Union that we're at war with al-Qaeda... I don't know where has Dick Cheney has been. Look, it's one thing to criticize, it's another to re-write history. What is he talking about?"
Gregory followed up with a question about Cheney's motives, but Biden didn't bite.
"All I know is he's factually, substantively wrong on the major criticisms he is asserting," Biden told NBC's David Gregory. "He either is misinformed or he is misinforming, but the facts are that his assertions are not accurate."
