'So embarrassing': Fox News host pummels GOP for Biden impeachment disaster

Fox News' Jessica Tarlov delivered what will likely be unwelcome news to many of its viewers about House Republicans' impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

In breaking down the recent indictment of key impeachment witness Alexander Smirnov for allegedly lying to investigators about Biden, Tarlov contended that it was just the latest in a long string of embarrassments for House Republicans in their efforts to find a justification for removing Biden from office.

Smirnov, who gave evidence that the GOP claimed linked Biden to a bribe, was arrested last week and accused of lying. He has reportedly admitted to investigators that he fed Republican lawmakers information that came from officials associated with Russian intelligence.

"Honestly, I'm surprised that they have this high of a threshold for humiliation," she said. "Every witness they have called has decimated their argument. From Devon Archer to [Eric] Schwerin... and then we have the guy behind the holy grail document, the 1023, Alexander Smirnov, who's found that he had lied... about the charges, the $5 million that went to both of them.

"And then it gets even better! Not only did he lie, he was lying because the Russians were feeding him the disinformation!"

Tarlov summed up the GOP's efforts to nail Biden on bribery charges: "It's so embarrassing."

She then added that Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and James Comer (R-KY) should "try to do something for their constituents and let this go because it's going nowhere."
