Axios is reporting that President Joe Biden and his campaign are zeroing in on a strategy of needling former President Donald Trump every day with the goal of getting him to have a narcissistic meltdown.
As one Biden adviser tells Axios, the hope is that Trump will "go haywire in public" after suffering narcissistic injuries from constant ridicule, and Biden strategists are also hoping that this shows the president still has some of the fight that he famously displayed during a 2012 vice presidential debate with former Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI).
"Sources tell us that Biden is looking for a fight," the publication writes. "Biden's instincts tell him to let it fly when warning about the consequences of Trump winning the presidency again."

It's unclear whether Biden will display this kind of punchiness at his upcoming State of the Union speech, where presidents traditionally try to take on a more statesman-like tone.
After that, however, we can expect Biden to repeatedly needle Trump by reminding him again and again that he lost the 2020 election.
"Biden advisers have some evidence that Biden is already getting under Trump's skin," the report adds. "After Biden's appearance with Seth Meyers, Trump quickly complained about the show on social media, calling the president a 'basket case.'"
